During the pandemic, Donna English, the Life Enrichment and Wellness Director at Brightmoor was looking for a state-of-the-art solution that would engage her residents as well serve to benefit their quality of life and offer extra stimulation. They heard about Obie’s interactive tech and knew right away that the device had the potential to be exactly what they were looking for!
Donna and her staff have witnessed an immediate positive change in the well-being of her residents as soon as Obie was introduced. After the device was installed, residents were all of a sudden excited to engage with others, and have really enjoyed learning all about the device and everything it has to offer. Donna said that residents really look forward to playing on the device! She said that residents would play for hours and hours with Obie if they had the option!
Obie has really improved the quality of life for the residents at Brightmoor by giving them something to look forward to and providing much needed stimulation needed to enhance their well-being. Obie has been a beneficial part of increasing the levels of engagement and social interaction for the residents, by encouraging them to gather together. The device has also provided a conversation piece because now they are discussing their favorite games and the best strategies on how to play them. Residents talk for hours about the score they receive playing the games and love to come together to try and beat their previous score. They get excited learning about the new games and figuring out how to play them.
Donna is really looking forward to starting some tournaments built around Obie, especially with the interactive soccer game. Donna and the rest of the staff at Brightmoor are so thankful that they have found an activity that brings more joy to both their residents and staff!
